# Running Multiple Promotions Giveaway Gator fully supports running more than one promotion at the same time. Every order automatically earns entries in all active promotions — customers don't have to choose, and you don't have to manage separate configurations for each one. ## Why Run Multiple Promotions? - **Seasonal + evergreen** — Keep a long-running monthly giveaway active while layering a short holiday promotion on top - **Different audiences** — Run a general giveaway alongside a VIP-only promotion with higher entry values - **Product launches** — Spin up a limited-time promotion around a new product drop without disrupting your main giveaway - **Testing** — Try different bonus structures in a new promotion before applying them to your primary one ## How It Works When a customer places an order while multiple promotions are active, Giveaway Gator calculates entries for **each promotion independently**. That means: - Each promotion uses its own entry rate (dollars per entry) - Each promotion applies its own bonuses (product bonuses, order bonuses, discount codes) - Each promotion tracks its own bonus periods and multipliers - The customer sees all earned entries on the thank-you page and in the Entry Checker There's nothing extra to configure — just create your promotions with overlapping date ranges and they'll both run. ## Important: Keep Bonus Period Multipliers Aligned If you're running multiple promotions with bonus periods, **make sure the multipliers match across promotions during the same timeframe**. The product entry tags on your storefront (the "Earn X entries" labels on product cards) can only display one multiplier at a time. If your promotions have different active multipliers, the tags may show a value that doesn't match what customers actually earn in one of the promotions. For example: - **Promotion A** has a 10x bonus period running this weekend - **Promotion B** has no bonus period active The product tags will reflect one of those multipliers, which could be misleading for the other promotion. To avoid confusion, either align your bonus periods across all active promotions or only use bonus periods on one promotion at a time. ## Tips - **Use distinct names** — Give each promotion a clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Summer Giveaway" vs. "July Flash Sweepstakes") so customers can tell them apart in the Entry Checker and on the thank-you page. - **Stagger start/end dates** — Overlapping is fine, but avoid starting and ending two promotions on the exact same day. It makes reporting cleaner when each promotion has its own window. - **Flow and API entries respect all active promotions** — If you leave the Promotion ID blank in a Flow action or API call, entries are awarded to every active promotion automatically.
